THE FORBES FIELD TRIVIA CONTEST.

 

Here is the trivia contest that was given at the past weekend's Forbes Field Chapter meeting at the Heinz History Center. Below is a link to the contest and a link for the answers

HALL OF FAME GRAVESITES.

Long-time members will recall a few gravesite tours we did during past meetings. As you may know, four members of the Baseball Hall of Fame rest in the Pittsburgh area. If you have a GPS receiver, here are the exact locations of our four guys:

  • Josh Gibson: Allegheny, between Lawrenceville and Friendship. N 40 28' 28.4" W 79 56' 46.1"

  • Pie Traynor: Homewood, in Point Breeze. N 40 26' 40.2" W 79 54' 40.6"

  • Pud Galvin (family plot): Calvary, between Hazelwood and Greenfield. N 40 24' 57.4" W 79 55' 56.0"

  • Honus Wagner: Jefferson Memorial, South Hills, off Curry Hollow Rd. N 40 19' 59.8" W 79 58' 54.5"
